Entry 11: Dark Clouds Today I saw some very dark clouds coming my way. They were wide and thick and seemed to be kind of low to the ground. I thought for sure it meant rain for later in the day, but when they passed over, there was no rain. It was extremely windy after the clouds passed overhead, and then it rained when white clouds were above. I thought that the thicker the cloud, the heavier the rain would be, but I guess I was wrong. Entry 12: Even More Stupid Snow!!!!! Can you believe it!!??!? It is snowing ugly wet snow again! Man, can we get out of winter yet or what?!? Alright I'll stop whining now... We are only supposed to get an inch or two so it should melt pretty quickly. We didn't get enough to cancel school tomorrow, so what a worthless snow. I said it before, and I will say it again: It is Spring and should not be snowing!!! I really need to move to some place where it doesn't snow for 5 months out of the year! Arizona would be nice I am sure :) Entry 13: Neptune Weather Today I found a neat weather article: Neptune's Weather I am really into astronomy so when I bumped into this article I thought it might be interesting. I know it is not about weather on earth, but I was surprised that we can tell anything at all about a planets weather from so far away. It is neat to think about if we could survive on Neptune, what the weather would be like. Would it rain some wierd chemical? What color would the sky be? Would storms form the same way with the develpment of a cyclone or would some other forces come into play? I know - I think about some wierd stuff! Entry 14: Weather and War Someone sent me this article in an email. It is about seeding clouds and other stuff that the military can do to change the wheather to thier advantage in a war. I am not sure that we have that technology now, but it would be an awesome thing to be able to do. Here is the article: Military Weather Entry 15: Stupid Movie Breeds Strange Questions My roomate and I were bored last night, so we went to see a movie. She really wanted to see "The Core" so I agreed because there was nothing else that looked better. Well, in case you are considering seeing this movie, I should warn you that it is not entirely believable, but the special effects are pretty cool. The premise of the movie is that the big bad evil US Government made this high powered machine that can shoot some kind of high frequency waves of energy towards the center of the earth. This would enable the Government to make earth quakes anywhere on the planet. It works great for a few years and then strange things start happening to the planet. I won't spoil what all of them are, but the cause of them is that the core of the earth stops spinning. This in turn weakens the electromagnetic field on the planet - the cause of all the bad happenings on earth. There is this cool scene when the Collosium in Rome blows up when it was struck by lightning from a "Super Thunderstorm." I am wondering if that can really happen, I mean It would surely take a lot of energy to blow up that collossal structure. Also, the golden gate bridge gets melted in half when the sun's rays, which are no longer blocked enough by the magnetic field, burn through it. So if you go see this movie for the special effects it is cool, but if you want a believable story line you will be out of luck :) ||Meteo Journal Home||Page 1||Page 2||Page 4||Page 5|| |
