Meteorology Journal: Entries 16-20

Entry 16: Why does it always rain on Thursdays?!?!?!?!?!?

I swear it rains every Thursday! It never used to happen when I lived at home, but here in Harrisburg it rains practically every Thursday. It must have something to do with city traffic or something.

Entry 17: Thunderstorm

Today a very large thunderstorm just blew in. I was surprised because all of the sudden I saw a flash in the distance and then the winds picked up. Then I saw a double rainbow that was very high in the sky. I also saw some clouds at the top being blown in a flat shape (like an anvil). There were mammatas clouds on the one side too. It didn't hail or anything - just rained really hard and took out some small tree limbs. I was hoping to get a big piece of hail or something, maybe next time :)

Entry 18: Mars and Venus Weather

Today I found 2 neat weather web pages: Mar's Weather   Venus's Weather It has it all broken down into cloud variability, what temperature it will be, the dewpoint (-150 C), etc. I found them and thought they were pretty cool to compare. The high for Venus is like 400 something and the high for Mars was like -35.

Entry 19: The Farmer's Almanac

I have always been facinated by the Farmer's Almanac and how it can be so close to accurate. So I checked out their website: Farmer's Almanac It is pretty neat how studying animals, plant life and sun spots can actually give you a pretty good idea about how the climate will tend to change over time.

Entry 20: What a nice day!!!

Why does a nice sunny day make me feel like cutting class? I guess everyone feels that way. It is supposed to get up to 80 degrees today :) There was a rainbow early this morning when there was a little fog or thin clouds in the air. The sun burned them off and now there isn't a cloud in the sky! Summer is almost here!
